What makes Last Strike unique?
Founded by Leyly Farias, with 14 years in construction, starting as part of the 2% of women on-site and now among the growing 13% in NSW and a qualified Domestic Violence Counsellor, our program is built on real, lived experience.
She currently still works on site alongside tradesmen, understanding the daily pressures firsthand. Unlike traditional programs, we immerse ourselves on-site, using real-life video to help workers see their world differently.
We deliver practical strategies and connect workers to vital support within the realities of a high pressure construction environment.
With strong company backing, we reinforce one clear message: workers are valued, supported, and matter on-site and at home.
The spark that ignited Last Strike
Last Strike was born from a profound personal loss – the suicide of a foreman, someone you'd least expect. This tragedy, combined with ongoing domestic violence counselling studies, became the catalyst for change. "The 10min save" project was dedicated to ensuring no one else in the industry suffers unheard, especially those who hide their struggles behind a smile or through work.
We believe speaking up is a sign of strength, not weakness. Our mission is to break the silence and create a supportive environment where every voice is heard, and every struggle acknowledged.
Our vision: saving lives, building communities
With Last Strike, we aim to save lives on site, prevent self-harm, combat depression, and stop individuals from spiralling into negative behaviours or substance abuse due to a lack of support. We want to be that trusted shoulder to lean on, where every story is heard without judgment.
We also assist companies in cultivating a strong bond among their teams, fostering a "mates care" culture. Because ultimately, everyone has a loved one to go home to, and we want to ensure they do, safely and well.
